It’s been a very busy year, especially since the summer and will continue into the new year. The summer here in Galway was nuts, so busy with festival after festival and the Volvo Ocean Race was huge and a great success, but, meant I had to work more hours than I needed to but was enjoyable.
I have had some poems and articles published in the last few months that I hadn’t the time to post about. I have also been busy creating our first poetry book, an anthology for a group of writers I am involved. Last Friday we had our book launch and it was a huge success with a large crowd and plenty of interest in our book.
Also, I was asked by Ariana of the amazing ‘Emerge Literary Journal’ to be a guest reader for the coming issues and this has been a great privilege and honor as well as a challenge as there are tons and tons of submissions to read and decide on, great fun and amazing experience.
Working on the anthology has been a lot of work, but the end product was justifiable and of the highest quality. Packed full excellent poetry from 7 poets, each with their own style and voice, “Wayword Tuesdays” our book, is available for sale (contact us here). I will be creating a post soon explaining the process and direction we partook with this book and the self-publishing process that got the book created, and hopefully, this post will help someone else who is interested in self-publishing. The book will also, in the new year, be turned in to digital.
As for new poems, I ave been privileged and delighted to have work published in a variety of places, online and in print. here are some that are now online for reading
‘Crack the Spine’ “Let’s Recollect The Madness”
‘The Dead Beats’ “Be One” and “In memory of a Beat”
‘The Galway Review’ “O, To Be Between Your Legs”, “Sea”, “Carlsberg don’t do countries, but if they did…”
‘Writing.com Anthology’ “Ode To A World Of You” (Print)
I also have work forthcoming in ‘The Rusty Nail’ and ‘Emerge Literary Journal’ which I look forward to being a part of.

Really enjoyed hearing the Tuesday Knights’ poets in Café Blend in Letterkenny last night!
I bought the book, and can’t wait to read the rest of the poetry from you all, Stephen – if what I heard in Café Blend last night is anything to go by, I now have treasure in my possession.,:-)
Go n-éirí go geal leis an leabhar!

Thanks Melissa, this site is a little mess at the moment, but will do until I get a portfolio site created. Looking forward to your film poems, big fan of that form.
